THIS is the 64th year of Athletics Weekly’s results service and once again the magazine will try to ensure every run, jump or throw of merit appears in print. Performances will also be automatically fed to Athletics Data for publication on UKA’s Power of 10 website.

Please see here for our 2009 Standards which are the minimum depth to which AW endeavours to collect results.

In the last two years AW’s results process has undergone a number of significant changes which should make things easier for meeting organisers. AW is now asking race organisers to submit results using the 2009 version of its results collection spreadsheet that can be found here. See here for full instructions on how to use the spreadsheet.

This spreadsheet needs no installation, is simple to use and has an online help file. It requires Microsoft Excel (all versions from 2002 onwards).

When you have completed the spreadsheet, please email to results@athletics-weekly.com

If you have any questions about the operation of the spreadsheet, call Jacky Brett on 01733-808546 or Steve Smythe on 01733-808534. If you have your own results system please contact Jacky or Steve to discuss an automated feed from your system.

IF you are unable to use the AW spreadsheet, then please supply the results in one of the following ways:

By email to: results@athletics-weekly.com (preferred)

Please ensure date, venue, event name and league name (if appropriate) are included in the body of the email and on any attachment of results and give your email a descriptive subject line. For each performance, please provide first name, surname, club, performance, wind speed (if applicable – plus the best legal jumps for any performances where the best jump was windy - >2mps), age group (if not clear from the context) and gender. It is also essential to indicate an athlete’s precise position within a race, even if, for example, you are submitting an abbreviated version of a series of sprints. Please indicate where athletes have thrown non-standard implements for their age group or where it is otherwise not evident.

By fax to: 01733-808535

By post to: Athletics Weekly, PO Box 1026, Peterborough PE1 9GZ

By phone to: 01733-808534. If you are telephoning results, please pick out in advance all performances meeting AW’s standards.
