-
Wear and hat and sunglasses to shield the face and eyes while
training
-
Cover your shoulders with a t-shirt or even a long-sleeved
shirt.
-
Don’t use fabric that’s too thin – if you can see your hand
through it, then the sun’s rays will also be able to penetrate
it.
-
Train before 10am and after 4pm if possible.
-
Use sunscreen lotions on exposed skin surfaces – and with a
decent sun protection factor too.
-
Continue to use a sunscreen on cloudy days – you can still get
burnt.
-
If you sweat a lot, use a water-resistant sunscreen.
-
Don’t forget those small but exposed areas too such as the tips
of your ears.
-
Keep sipping water to stay hydrated.
-
If you are at a competition, stay out of the sun. Going in the
sun will not prepare you for the competition – it is more likely
to drain you.
