Holmes set for an emotional GB farewell MIDDLE-DISTANCE: Double Olympic champion aims to go out on a high over 800m at Sheffield meeting
The double Olympic gold medallist is expected to race over 800m in the Norwich Union British Grand Prix having received treatment for the Achilles injury which forced her to miss the World Championships. After what looks like being an emotional farewell appearance at the Don Valley Stadium, she is expected to compete in the BUPA Great North Mile on the quayside at Newcastle next month. She has also indicated that she may choose to retire after the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne next March.
