That winning streak MAX JONES, UK Athletics’ former performance director, writes about the attitude of the United States to competitive sport
There are those experts who put the might of the USA down to a large population, drugs or exploitation of youth but there has to be more than just population behind their domination of athletics over the past century. While on vacation in Florida I passed an advertising hoarding giving details of a High School meet in Naples and, since I can’t resist anything to do with athletics, I paid my three bucks and attended.
