New Great North road races The Great North Run festival of athletics is to be expanded with the introduction of two international 3km road races on the Newcastle Quayside, writes Steve Landells.
THE men’s and women’s 3km races will take place on Saturday September 17, alongside the existing senior and junior miles races for men and woman. The BUPA Great North Run – the biggest half-marathon in the world – takes place the following day.
