DAVID RUDISHA smashed his 800m PB and Kenyan record at the KBC Night of Athletics in Heusden-Zolder and the former world junior champion moved to No.2 on the all-time lists with a tremendous performance of 1:41.51.
Rudisha, who warmed up for this race with a comfortable victory at the Samsung Diamond League meeting in Lausanne in 1:43.25, was paced again by his training partner Sammy Tangui through 400m in 49.14 (Rudisha was timed at 49.65) and 600m in 1:14.4.
The Kenyan’s winning time is also the third fastest on record, behind Wilson Kipketer’s 1:41.24 from Zurich in 1997 and his world record of 1:41.11 from Cologne in the same year.
