CHRIS THOMPSON made a superlative 10,000m debut at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational in Stanford on May 1 as the in-form 29-year-old moved to No.3 on the UK all-time lists with 27:29.61, which is the fastest time by a British athlete since Jon Brown set the UK record of 27:18.14 in Brussels in 1998.
