Winners from Heaton Park in Manchester
Grace Nicholls (241) and Eleanor Wimshurst (1) battle it out
GRACE NICHOLLS of Kent followed in the footsteps of former winners such as Paula Radcliffe when she won the senior girls' title at a rain-soaked Heaton Park on Saturday. Nicholls beat Eleanor Wimshurst of Avon by one second, with Katie Holt of Staffordshire third.
Local runners dominated the senior boys' race, with Harry Ellis of Cheshire beating Karl Billington of Lancashire.
Harvey Dixon of Hants was a resounding winner of the inter boys' race, with runner-up being Connor Robinson of Cornwall.
Jessica Judd of Essex was an equally emphatic winner of the junior girls' race, winning by 22 seconds from Emily Wallbank of Bedfordshire with Ruth Haynes of Surrey third.
Emily Smith of Somerset won a close junior girls' race. In the junior boys' race, local runner Adam Howard, third in the under-15 National, clocked 12:17 to beat Leicestershire and Rutland's Xander Tansey by 20 seconds.
