Triple world and Olympic champion Usain Bolt will make his 300m debut at the Golden Spike meeting in Ostrava on May 27
USAIN BOLT will contest the rarely-run 300m at the prestigious Golden Spike meeting in Ostrava on May 27.
The meeting organisers have suggested the triple world and Olympic champion will attempt to break Michael Johnson’s world record of 30.85, which was set in 2000.
The Jamaican said: "I have done some 300s in training so I am used to the distance but this will be my first time to race it," Bolt said. "If the weather is good I hope to run a fast time."
The triple world and Olympic champion has not contested his specialist events this year but Bolt already has a 43.58 4x400m relay leg to his credit.
